The Reitenbach Family – Church Planters to Greenfield, Massachusetts
Dear Friends,
We ended 2023 on a strong note with a special Christmas Eve service and a good New Year’s Eve fellowship. We started 2024 with a snowy Sunday which kept some people away. My thought about winter is that if it’s going to be cold, we might as well have snow to go with it. From a pastor’s perspective, however, I never want to see snow when it’s time for church. Even though some people were absent, we had good services. I like to keep the church doors open no matter what the weather is, and we live close enough that we could get there in a blizzard if it came to that.
Thank you for praying for Kelly. She came to one midweek service and is still in great need of prayer. Her husband Mikele and her two daughters also need prayer. The daughters aren’t saved; and no matter what Mikele’s standing with the Lord is regarding salvation, he also needs to get right with God.
We were hindered from having regular services at the nursing home for a few weeks due to Covid in the building, but we were able to make individual room visits on two of the Sundays. We would sing a song and then I would read some Scripture and pray with them. One of the Sundays we did that was the snowy day, and it was helpful to have Russ drive his 4-wheel-drive truck across town to get there. One of the staff expressed her appreciation for us being there, especially when the roads were so bad. On the same day, one sweet lady who is on the quieter side followed Russ and me to each room so she could be a part of what we were doing. Thankfully, we have since been able to go back to our regular schedule (for now), and the spirit of the services continues to be good. It truly is a special group of people we get to minister to there.
Thank you for praying for Eliana’s wrists and eyes. At the time of this writing, the physical therapy appointment for her wrist is a few days away. A certain tendon is inflamed, but it’s unclear why it hasn’t healed.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, we received some special financial gifts. While we try to send a personal thank you to every giver, it’s possible we missed one or two. If that is the case, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity. We also thank all of you who pray and have any role in our financial support!
